Distinctive jewellery has been stolen in a raid on a home in Halesowen.

An burglar broke into a house on Bromsgrove Road, Hunnington, escaping with a host of gold, silver and pearl jewellery.

The incident happened on Wednesday January 2 between 1pm and 5.45pm - police are appealing for witnesses to help them catch the culprit.

The jewellery taken included a gold and black signet ring, bracelet and Pandora charm bracelets.

Investigating officer, PC Calista Crosfield said: "A home has been broken into and jewellery taken from within, thankfully no-one was hurt during the incident.

"We are seeking the public's help to find the jewellery and those responsible.

"We are appealing for any information relating to the whereabouts of the jewellery, if local residents have been offered jewellery for sale in unusual circumstances as well as if anyone witnessed any suspicious behaviour in Bromsgrove Road, Hunnington, Halesowen on Wednesday 2 January please call 101."

"In the meantime our officers will continue to work in local communities where family gold is targeted and offer crime prevention advice to those who might fall victim to this type of crime"
