COSTA Coffee is opening 'a major new' store at the Cornbow next month - and another famous High Street brand is set to follow.

Latte lovers and Americano aficionados will be able to get their Costa fix from February onwards, Cornbow chiefs have confirmed this week.

And they revealed that another, as yet unnamed, famous brand will be following in Costa's footsteps by joining the Cornbow's ranks too.

The new Costa store's size will be significant enough that part of the shopping centre's atrium will be remodelled.

“We’re delighted Costa is coming to the Cornbow,” said Adrian Oliver, director of Tansor, the owner of the Cornbow.

“It’s a highly trusted brand which consistently serves great coffee in a relaxing and setting – that’s just up our street.

“Costa coming to the Cornbow will see a prominent corner coming back to life.

"It will remodel some of the atrium and open up views to Asda, Bonmarché and Peacocks as well as to the block of property soon to be occupied by another major store coming to the Cornbow.

“Costa will attract new visitors as well as encourage regulars to stay longer as they take a break from their shopping or read a paper.

“Costa will do well here as it’s absolutely aligned to the Cornbow’s compelling offer – top retail brands in a convenience setting.”

The Cornbow has not yet revealed the identity of the other company that has committed to opening a branch in the centre.

But the News has been told that the firm is a 'premier retailer and a veteran of the High Street'.
