A SCHOOL girl from Dudley has won a place at the prestigious English Youth Ballet and will be wowing audience with her skills next month.

Tiana Homer, aged 10, from Dudley, is currently rehearsing for a professional production of Giselle, alongside international dancing stars.

The Dudley Wood Primary School pupil was among 150 young hopefuls who demonstrated their dancing prowess at an audition at Stoke's Regent Theatre last November.

Janet Lewis MBE, director and founder of the English Youth Ballet, said: "EYB is all about providing extra performance experience to young dancers. We saw a very pleasing standard at the auditions and it was lovely to see lots of enthusiasm.”

Tiana's proud mum Jayne said: "We are all so proud of Tiana's hard work and dedication. When she has a knock back she gets back up, dusts herself off and works harder.

"Over the last three years she has performed with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, the Midland Theatre Ballet and this will be her second time performing with English Youth Ballet.

"Tiana has such inspirational dance teachers at Penelope's Dance Studio and Flare Dance Academy and an amazing dance family. We would like to say a special thank you to Miss P, Kate and Emma for their continued support."

Tiana will be performing in Giselle at the Regent Theatre, Stoke on Trent on Friday March 1 and Saturday March 2 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
