A WOMAN who jumped to her death from the roof of a multi-storey car park in Halesowen had tried to take her own life before - an inquest heard.

The inquest into the death of Julie Bolton, from Dudley Wood, was opened and adjourned at the Black Country Coroners' Court this morning (Tuesday).

The hearing heard Miss Bolton, of Murray Grey Mews, off Lea Bank Road, suffered from schizophrenia and that the 44-year-old had tried to take her own life on two previous occasions.

Black Country assistant coroner Emma Serrano said police received a report on Thursday March 7th that a female had jumped from the multi-storey car park building in Pool Road, Halesowen. She was found below the building at around 6am.

She said paramedics attended and Miss Bolton, who was single, was pronounced dead at the scene. Letters found in her pocket contained details of her next of kin.

Ms Serrano said: "I would like to express my condolences to the family."

She adjourned the inquest to carry out further enquires into Miss Bolton's mental health.

The inquest was opened and adjourned to May 7th.
