STOURBUG Cycling Club is holding an open day this weekend for those keen to get into cycling for fun, fitness and friendship.

Members of the club will be at the activity centre in Mary Steven’s Park, Norton, from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday April 6 to tell prospective members about the club’s events and activities that will be taking place throughout the year.

Founded in 2007 by Russell and Nicky Eden, Stourbug has grown to a membership of more than 250 men and women and is the largest cycling club of its kind in the region.

The club, which is a social rather than a racing club, offers on and off-road rides to suit all abilities plus social activities - existing to promote cycling in all forms.

Interested members of the public are invited to find out more about Stourbug and take their bikes along to the open day, which will also see Dr Bike offering free bike checks and West Midlands Police representatives offering free security marking.

For more information contact Stourbug chairman Graham Austin on 07940 540012.
