A MAN has been taken to hospital with 'potentially serious injuries' after being hit by a car in Lye.

Medics were called to the scene on Stourbridge Road, just before 5am this morning to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 4.56am to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

"Two ambulances and a Merit Trauma doctor attended.

"We treated one man, the pedestrian, for potentially serious injuries, and he was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital on blue lights and sirens."
