MADAM - I was left spluttering over my cornflakes when I read that Stourbridge College is set to close. Over the years the college has given distinguished service to the town being developed originally by skilled demobbed servicemen after the Second World War.
Like other institutions in the town - Corbett Hospital, The Town Council, The Probation Service, The Magistrates Court (so much for our right to be tried by our peers) The Police Station, faceless bureaucrats together with some crass commercialists, have yet again shown contempt for Stourbridge.
Our town is on par with some cities like Shrewsbury and Hereford but can you imagine them being asset stripped in the way we have shamefully been.
