AWARD-WINNING tribute act Ultimate Coldplay are returning to Stourbridge for a hometown gig.

Named best UK Coldplay tribute at the National Tribute Awards 2018, the band will be playing at The River Rooms, Mill Race Lane, on Friday June 7 and will be bringing a film crew along to capture the entire gig on camera.

Frontman David Jenkins, a dead ringer for real Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, hails from Stourbridge as does lead guitarist Chris Welch and the band have a loyal army of fans from the town who follow them to gigs up and down the country.

The band also comprises bass player and backing vocalist Rob Sidebottom, originally from Manchester, and drummer and backing vocalist Neil Williams, both of whom live in Northamptonshire.

The four-piece act have been together since 2016 but have 100 years of gigging experience between them.

Set to play in Malta later this year, their show is based on Coldplay's Head Full of Dreams tour and features classic hits including Yellow, Scientist, Paradise, Fix You, Adventure of a Lifetime, Something Just Like This, Viva La Vida, In my Place, Sky full of Stars.
