CHILDREN'S charity Let Us Play scooped a £6,200 boost from a quiz night hosted by a Black Country accountancy firm.

Thirty-six teams put their grey cells to the test in the sell-out event hosted by Blackthorns Chartered Accountants at Wombourne Civic Centre.

Karen Turner, managing director of Lye-based Blackthorns, said: “We’re delighted with the amount raised for our 2019 charity Let Us Play (Wolverhampton) and would like to thank all the teams who took part, the organisers who worked so hard to make the event happen and the companies who donated prizes. Congratulations to our winners Greenwell Gleeson, whose team members each received a bottle of champagne.

“Over the past six years, we’ve raised over £50,000 for our nominated charities: Friends of Kemp Hospice, Promise Dreams, Freddie’s Wish, Friends of Alfie Johnson and SmileforJoel.”
