A DUDLEY man has been slapped with the a community order after possessing a meat cleaver in public.

Durrell Gordon, aged 21 years old, of Bullfinch Close, Russells Hall, Dudley, pleaded guilty to possessing a meat cleaver in a public place without good reason or lawful authority at Dudley Magistrate's Court. He received a community order and must carry out 60 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a £85 victim surcharge and costs of £185.

The following cases were also heard at Dudley Magistrate's Court.

Florina Ionescu, aged 19 years old, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing razor blades worth £593.00 from Asda in Halesowen. She received an 18 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months and was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Davey Cartwright, aged 31, of Bromford Lane, West Bromwich, pleaded guilty to causing £200 worth of unlawful damage to a glass window pane in Dudley. He also pleaded guilty to causing a police constable harassment, alarm or distress and admitted a count of assault. He received a community order including a curfew and was ordered to pay compensation, surcharges and costs totalling £720.

Jordan Hodgkins, aged 23 years old, of Coventry Street, Stourbridge, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £30 surcharge and £135 costs.

Kerry Hughes, aged 38, of Woodnorton Road, Oldbury, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. She received a community order and was fined £80 and was ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £85 victim surcharge and £135 costs.

Liam Phipps, aged 23 years old, of Murcroft Road, Stourbridge, pleaded guilty to driving while above the limit of a controlled drug and driving without insurance or a licence. He was ordered to pay fines, surcharges and costs totalling £160 and is disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months.

Tina Cannon, aged 37 years old, of Selbourne Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty to stealing items from Asda in Dudley worth £39.97. She was jailed for four weeks due to committing the offence while on a suspended sentence and a history of similar offences. She was also ordered to pay £140 in compensation.

Theo White, aged 30 years old, of Osprey Drive, Dudley, pleaded guilty to possessing a class A drug. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £185 costs.

Leslie Bullock, aged 43 years old, of Redhall Road, Lower Gornal, pleaded guilty to driving over the legal alcohol limit. He was ordered to pay a fine, surcharge and costs totalling £465 and was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 17 months.

Natalie Williams, aged 36 years old, of Upton Street, Netherton, pleaded guilty to stealing £35 worth of groceries from Iceland in Halesowen. She received a 12 month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a surcharge and costs totalling £120.

Mark Stokes, aged 23 years old, of Ragees Road, Kingswinford, pleaded guilty to driving a moped without insurance, a test certificate or licence. He was ordered to pay a fine, surcharge and costs totalling £785 and is disqualified from holding a driving licence for two years.
