A FOUNDING member of legendary 80s band Dexys Midnight Runners who lives in Cradley Heath is giving away the last 25 copies of his 'lost' album to fans.
Guitarist Kevin Archer, who founded Black Country pop group Dexys with Kevin Rowland in 1978, left the band three years later to form the Blue Ox Babes.
Archer enjoyed a number one hit, Geno, with Dexys as well as reaching number six with There, There My Dear but left the band before they released their seminal blockbuster Come On Eileen.
He spent several years crafting songs with the Blue Ox Babes but the group was dropped by its label and its album, Apples and Oranges, went unreleased until 2009.
At that time, it was released through Cherry Red Records, selling more 1,000 copies, after Archer got the original mix tapes back.
Archer said: "There are 25 copies left, free to anyone who is a Dexys fan. Just email me on archer.k1@sky.com with your address and I will post them out."
