A TEENAGER who was arrested during a knife arch operation at Dudley bus station has been slapped with a Detention Training Order.
The 17-year-old threw his combat knife away and tried to run off, after spotting officers at the bus terminal on May 15.
He was being watched by undercover police officers who radioed in uniformed officers to make an arrest.
The teen, who is from Birmingham, was then later charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place.
He pleaded guilty at Wolverhampton Youth Court on June 5 and was handed a four-month Detention Training Order by the judge.
As part of the order, the 17-year-old will spend the first half of his sentence in a Young Offender’s Institute and the other half will be supervised by the Youth Offending Team out in the community.
He will spend this time in education and training designed and tailored to prevent re-offending.
