A DUDLEY jewellery designer has made it through to the grand final of a prestigious fashion competition.

Libbie Pountney has won a place in the final of the Midlands Fashion Awards 2019 where she will battle it out against designers from across the region.

The talented jewellery designer is a graduate from the School of Jewellery in Birmingham and runs her own successful jewellery making business.

Speaking on her joy at reaching the final, Libbie said: “I am really excited to be a finalist in the Midlands Fashion Awards. I am always looking at ways to elevate my business and I love creating jewellery, so to be recognised in this way is incredible. I can’t wait until October to showcase my designs and fingers crossed; I win the category.”

Jenny Eason, the founder and director of the Midlands Fashion Awards, added: “We have been championing creative fashion talent from across the region for well over a decade.

“Each year the awards have grown, and this year we had some amazing and creative talent enter the awards and it was a really hard judging process as the standard was so high. I want to wish all our finalists congratulations and also the very best of luck in October.”

The final of the Midlands Fashion Awards takes place on Friday October 11 at The CSBO Centre, part of the City of Birmingham Symphony Hall where 42 finalists will see if they have been recognised for their work in fashion, accessory design and make-up art.
