KIDDERMINSTER sit third from bottom in the Birmingham and District League Division One after defeat against Knowle and Dorridge.

KCC lost by four wickets at Chester Road last Saturday as they moved to three games without a win.

The hosts made 191 as Connor Smith top scored with just 39 as a number of Kidderminster batsmen got starts but couldn't go on.

Visiting bowler Jack Grundy put them on the backfoot early as he accounted for opener Andrew Kimberlin, number three Angus Robson and number four Shameer Ahmed as they slipped to 39-3.

They recovered from that through Smith and Richard Kimberlin (29) but wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

In reply, Scott Stenning and Alex Phillips put on 42 for the first wicket to lay the foundations for victory.

Smith and Chris Steele struck with the ball to remove the Knowle and Dorridge top order but Martin Donald's unbeaten 56 proved decisive as he guided his side to success in the 42nd over.

Kidderminster, who are just one point above second-from-bottom Dorridge, will look to get back to winning ways when they go to fourth-placed Moseley this Saturday (noon start).
