A DUDLEY man who "poleaxed" his stepfather when he knocked him unconscious with a single punch has been spared time behind bars.

Ryan Paraszczak also rained punches down on his mother in a string of vicious attacks at Netherton Conservative Club, said Edward Soulsby prosecuting.

He told Wolverhampton Crown Court that 26-year-old Paraszczak was angry because someone had smashed a window in a friends car and he was convinced the culprit was inside the club.

Amanda Harris, his mother, tried to calm him down because he was "agitated" and he punched her three times in the face.

His stepfather Stuart then intervened and he was punched to the ground with his mother screaming, "You've killed him," said Mr Soulsby.

At that Paraszczak punched his mother a further two times and he then struck her on a third occasion when she

fell over and hit her head.

Mr Harris suffered a three inch cut to his head while his wife was fortunate to escape with bruising and she later told

police in a victim impact statement she was now "scared" of her son.

She said she was convinced he had killed Stuart as she went on to say he needed anger management to help him stay

out of trouble.

Paraszczak, of Stourbridge Road, admitted assaulting Mr Harris causing him actual bodily harm and common assault on his mother.

He was given a six month jail term suspended for 18 months and ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work in the

community.

Judge James Burbidge QC further ordered him to pay £200 compensation to Mr Harris, £50 to his mother together with £250 court costs.

He also made Paraszczak the subject of a three year restraining order forbidding him from having any contact with the two victims.

Stephen Hamblett defending told the court it was an isolated incident and the defendant was now determined to stay out of trouble with the police.
