FOUR kitties from a Halesowen pet rescue have taken up residence at a Shakespearean-themed cat cafe in Stratford.

Clemmie, Tango, Amber and Annie, from Pepper's Pet Rescue, are being fostered by Shakespaw Cat Cafe, where they have become firm favourites with the cafe regulars - even making one visitor cry with their cuteness.

They have been renamed Cordelia, Portia, Cobweb and Mustardseed - in line with the Shakespearean theme of the cafe in Union Street.

Cafe founder and manager Rio Roberts collected the cats from Pepper's Pet Rescue on the Lodgefield estate in Halesowen after Sophie Pepper contacted her.

She only intended to take two - but fell in love with the others and ended up taking all four - with two already lined up to go to a new home together.

Rio said: "They are super confident - they are ruling the roost!

"I went to get two cats and one of the older ones jumped on my chest and was headbutting me and I didn't want to leave her.

"It was nice to keep them together as they are a family - Cordelia is the mum.

"They have already made one lady cry as they are so cute and the older two have already got a rehoming lined up."

The cafe has been running since last November - cat lovers can book a visit on its website at http://shakespawcatcafe.com/

Pepper's was started by nurses Sophie and Andrew Pepper, while they were at home as their three-year-old son Toby recovered from surgery to a cyst on his brain.

Animal-loving mum-of-two Sophie, runs Pepper's from her home, alongside her own 20 pets.

Rio added: "Sophie does an amazing job, she has a job, two children, I don't know how she finds the time to do what she does."

Sophie said: "The girls look amazing at the Shakespaw Cat Cafe - the younger two are still up for adoption - ideally we would like them to stay as a pair as they are very bonded.

"A huge thank you to Rio and her team for looking after them so amazingly whilst they are with them."

Peppers - which has a Facebook page - has an array of pets needing homes.
