KINVER Community Library is hosting a free children’s creative poetry workshop later this month.

The event with author and poet Mel Wardle Woodend will run at the Vicarage Drive library from 10.30am to 11.30am on Monday August 19.

Part of the library’s Summer Reading Challenge, which this year has a space theme, the free workshop will introduce children aged seven to 11 to features of poetry.

The author will introduce Little Brown Mouse and friends, who are aiming to stow away on a space rocket; children will then produce a poem of their own to imagine what happens on the journey.

Signed copies of the book Tails of a Little Brown Mouse will also be available on the day.

Booking is essential. Places can be registered by calling 07581 244393 or email melwoodendwriting@gmail.com; or call the library on 01384 872348.
