FOOD hygiene inspectors have given Oldswinford eaterie The Retreat a five-star rating following their latest inspection of the premises.
The popular Hagley Road bar and bistro received a zero rating when it was inspected previously in July 2018 and inspectors ordered a raft of improvements.
On their return visit though, on July 4 this year, they were satisfied the necessary improvements had been made and a top five-star rating was issued.
According to the Food Standards Agency website the venue was rated ‘good’ on all counts – for the hygienic handling of food, the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and the building, and for having the appropriate checks and systems in place to ensure food is safe to eat and that staff know about food safety.
