A MAN has been arrested after a hazardous substance was thrown through the window of a van at two men in Stourbridge, leaving them with burn injuries.

Police have arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of assault.

The incident happened in Wollaston Road near to the traffic lights on Audnam Road and Brettell Lane, on Sunday September 1, where the men were waiting in traffic.

After the substance was thrown, the men drove off in a bid to escape, but crashed nearby due to their injuries.

They were taken to hospital to be treated for burn injuries and were both subsequently discharged.

A 34-year-old man was arrested yesterday (September 5) and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Lee Bailey from force CID, said: “The incident happened near to Tesco Express and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

“This was a shocking attack and we want to reassure the public we are doing all we can as our investigation continues."
