THE emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash in Fareham.

Police and the fire service were alerted after the accident occurred at Gosport Road, Fareham, close to the Quay Street roundabout, just after 8.30am.

Two crews from Fareham and Portchester fire stations were called to the scene.

Initial reports suggested that at least one person was trapped in the wreckage but a Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) spokesperson said no-one had to be cut free.

The spokesperson said: "There was a collision between two private vehicles.

"No-one was trapped HFRS made the scene safe. South Central Ambulance Service was requested and police were informed."

It is not known how many people were injured or how badly they were hurt.

Fire crews remained in the scene until just before 9am.
