A WOMAN from Cradley Heath has been charged with murdering a man who died after being critically injured in a street robbery.

Mark Lloyd was left in a critical condition after being assaulted during a street robbery in Aldridge Road, Perry Barr, at around 11.10pm Saturday September 21.

The 39-year-old from Kingstanding died in hospital on Sunday, September 29.

Shannon Cronin, aged 23 from Clyde Street, Cradley Heath was charged with murder on Wednesday, October 2 and will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Thursday, 3 October).

Police said a 26-year-old man remanded in custody accused of robbery will also be re-questioned in relation to Mr Lloyd’s murder.

West Midlands Police Detective Inspector Jim Church from force CID, said: “This was initially treated as a robbery but we’re clearly now looking at a murder enquiry as Mr Lloyd sadly died from his injuries.

“I’d appeal for anyone who saw what happened or anyone acting suspiciously to call us as they may have important information."
