The locomotive left Crewe just before 10am and headed along the coast passing Prestatyn an hour later. The next stop was at Llandudno Junction at 11.30am where it stayed for about an hour giving fans of the locomotive the opportunity of a closer look and a chance to shoot photographs.
It then left for Holyhead where it arrived at around 1.30pm.
Fans, including Steven Morris who captured these impressive photographs, congregated at stations and vantage points along the route to see it steam past.

Steven said: "There was only a handful of people where we were under Vale Road Bridge trying to catch a glimpse of the Flying Scotsman at ground level as it travelled under the bridge approaching the station. Smoke bouncing off the underside of the bridge as it steamed through.
"My brother and I had tried to capture the engine a while ago, however, it had broken down en route so we were determined to make another effort to capture it as it went through Rhyl.
"Ian had travelled from Aylesbury to witness the spectacle.
"Everyone who sees the engine comments upon how fascinated and excited they are after seeing it in action on the railway line."
