MERRY Hill's popular street food festival is set to return in time for the festive season.

Award-winning street vendors will return to Street Food Affair festival at the Waterfront on Friday, December 6, along with a twilight market where shoppers can pick up bespoke handmade crafts, cakes, soaps and jewellery.

Local musicians, including Esther Turner and Jonny Allen, will perform, while a Christmas choir will help revellers get into the festive spirit.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring along a food item of their choice which will be collected on the night and donated to a local food bank.

Sarah New, founder of Street Food Affair, said: “The last two festivals at intu Merry Hill have been a phenomenal success and we look forward to putting on another great event. There’s a lot of hidden talent in the Midlands and we are pleased to be giving food and craft creators alike the opportunity to shine and share their passion with local communities.

“We really hope that guests will support our reverse food bank initiative and bring an item they’d like to donate to the event. With Christmas just around the corner, it’s important that we extend a helping hand to those who need it the most.”

Nick Round, regional managing director at intu Merry Hill, said: “We are excited to host the street food festival for the third time this year and look forward to yet another stellar event at The Waterfront. We welcomed over 1000 guests last time and we’re excited to see it return again at the centre.

“We have an amazing line-up of local food vendors and we can’t wait for guests to tuck into some of the best food in the Midlands."

Some of the culinary creations on offer include burgers from Patty Freaks, wood fired pizza from Bare Bones Pizza, gourmet hotdogs, Texan BBQ meats, middle eastern inspired kebabs and bubble waffles.
