TWO women have been seriously injured following a collision with a van at a major junction in Dudley.
The Burnt Tree junction on the Birmingham New Road was closed following the collision, which happened at around 1.50pm this afternoon (January 10).
Medics from West Midlands Ambulance Service raced to the scene and a Midlands Air Ambulance was also sent to help.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “On arrival crews discovered two pedestrians, both women, who had suffered serious injuries in the incident.
“Ambulance crews administered specialist trauma care at the scene before they were both transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital on land ambulances.
"The doctor from the air ambulance and the critical care paramedic from the critical care car travelled with the patients to help continue treatment enroute to hospital. Both patients are described as being in a serious condition.
“The driver of the van, a man, was assessed and discharged at the scene.
Drivers have been advised to avoid the area, which one of the busiest routes in Dudley.

Bus routes running along the Birmingham New Road have also been affected by the incident.
