Were you a student at one of Bolton's colleges in the 1990s?
The formation of the Community Education Service in 1990 saw Bolton Council’s focus turn towards providing vocational and training courses – getting people ready for the world of work.
A refurbishment of Bolton College in 1991 created a new guidance centre to help students progress from further to higher education and the same year saw the college gain independence from the council.
The late 1990s also saw the merger of Bolton North and South Colleges to form Bolton Sixth Form College.
