EIGHTIES heart-throb Paul Young will be performing in Stourbridge once again with his Tex-Mex band Los Pacaminos.

The legendary former chart star and his seven-piece band will be playing at The River Rooms in Mill Race Lane tonight (Friday January 31).

The band’s sound came about because of Paul’s love of the music but also the sheer joy of playing it.

He said: “I first heard Ry Cooder’s hybrid version of Tex-Mex, and I started to escape into a world of life down by the border, hot weather, good food… we started back in 1992 and it was too much fun to stop.

"I love the lift you get when playing it. We’re all past wanting to play or listen to music that depresses.”

Since then the band have performed with top acts including Queen, Tom Jones, Robbie Williams and many more - and they are considered one of the UK’s most popular live touring bands.
