A VAN driver rammed into a police car in an attempt to escape a pursuit after seen leaving a burglary in Cradley Heath.

Brierley Hill officers chased the van to Lye where it hit into their police car during the night. 

The van appears to have then gone off road.

After a chase on foot, one person was arrested for burglary and stolen items in the van were recovered.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary after officers were called to Cradley Heath Labour Club on Graingers Lane shortly before 5am today (February 10)."
