A WOMAN who was attacked three times by her boyfriend’s former partner now felt “scared for her life,” a court was told.

In a victim impact statement read at Llandudno magistrates’ court Megan Martin-Jones said: “It only takes one person to kill someone.”

Before the court was 18-year-old Chloe Furber, who admitted three offences of common assault on Miss Martin-Jones on two days in August last year.

James Neary, prosecuting, said that on August 8 Miss Martin-Jones was waiting in her car at traffic lights in Towyn when the defendant opened her door and spat in her face.

They bumped into each other again on August 28 at Morrison’s store in Rhyl, when, in full view of other shoppers, Furber again spat at her, punched her in the face, poked her finger in her eyes and pulled out her hair extensions.

When someone told her she could get arrested she allegedly replied: “I don’t give a f***".

Andy Hutchinson, defending, said that Furber, of Gwynfryn A venue, Rhyl, had no previous convictions and had a good work ethic, holding down two jobs.

“She was very raw at the time after the breakdown of the relationship,” he said.

District Judge Gwyn Jones said the offences were aggravated by the fact that the assaults occurred in a public place.

Furber was given a 12-month community penalty and must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

She was also ordered to pay Miss Martin-Jones, whose mobile phone was damaged in the second incident, £500 in compensation.

The judge also imposed a restraining order preventing her from approaching Miss Martin-Jones for four years.
