AN ELDERLY man has died after sustaining serious injuries in a crash near Sherborne.
Dorset Police was called at 3.53pm on Tuesday, January 21 to the incident involving a grey Skoda Roomster and a silver Toyota HiAce panel van on the A30 at Babylon Hill.
The driver of the Skoda, a local 88-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital in a serious condition. He died on Tuesday, February 18.
His 86-year-old wife also died as a result of the crash on January 22.
Their family is being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
The driver of the Toyota van, a man aged in his 50s and from Yeovil, sustained minor injuries.
Police Sergeant Sarah Jones, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with both the man and woman’s family at this very difficult time.
“I would like to renew my appeal for witnesses, or anyone with general dashcam footage of the A30 between 3.30pm and 4pm on Tuesday, January 21, to please come forward.”
