A STOURBRIDGE solicitor has been hailed a rising star in law after scooping two top awards in the space of a week.

Vic Younis, of Wall James Chappell, won the 'rising star in law' award at the British Muslim Awards in Manchester on January 31 and followed it up with an award for 'excellence in legal services' at The Signature Awards 2020 held at Birmingham's International Convention Centre on February 7.

The 32-year-old, who started his career as a solicitor in the dispute resolution department at Wall James Chappell three years ago before becoming a salaried partner last October, said: "I am humbled and privileged to receive two such prestigious awards in the space of seven days earlier this year.

"I am most grateful for the full support of my clients, professional contacts and Wall James Chappell for all their support without whom these awards would not have been possible."

Vic, who was born and bred in Stourbridge, obtained a first class honours degree in law from the University of Wolverhampton before starting his career and he has since gone on to gain the Higher Rights of Civil Advocacy which allows him to represent clients in the Supreme Court.

Roger Bishop, consultant at Wall James Chappell who has a 50-year career in law under his belt, said: “It has been a delight to pass on my experience and introduce Vic to my clients in the last three years.

"From the first time he started at Wall James Chappell - he has proven to be a young, motivated, fully committed lawyer with sound legal knowledge and an approachable assurance manner with clients. He deserves his success and I am sure he will go far."
