AS part of Dying Matters Awareness Week 2020 in May, a Stourbridge funeral director will be hosting a film screening of a critically acclaimed documentary about life’s end.

Filmed over 12 months on the Isle of Wight, the documentary is billed a life-affirming reflection on the phenomena of dying, portraying the transition away from personhood and observing the last days and hours of life and the moment of death.

The film is reported to take a buoyant look at the grim topic – showing death to be natural, albeit strange and unspeakable.

H. Porter and Sons is hosting the film showing at The Lounge at the Old Church House, South Road, Stourbridge, in conjunction with Mary Stevens Hospice and Dying Matters Dudley and there will be a post-show discussion and light refreshments.

The event will be held on Thursday May 14, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Tickets are free and available from www.eventbrite.co.uk (search H Porter and Sons, Stourbridge). For more details email lucyporter@hporter.co.uk or search for @Hporterandsonsfuneraldirectors on Facebook.
