SAINSBURY'S stores in Blackheath, Oldbury, Amblecote will open exclusively for the elderly and vulnerable tomorrow (Thursday) morning during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The stores will both open from 7am till 8am tomorrow for people over 70 and the disabled.
The move is designed to stop panic buyers preventing vulnerable people from getting essential supplies.
Sainsbury's will be closing its cafes and its meat, fish and pizza counters to free up freight capacity for essential products from tomorrow.
Customers can buy a maximum of three of any grocery product and a maximum of two on the most popular items such as toilet roll, soap and UHT milk.
It's one of several supermarkets announcing plans to help the vulnerable as the coronavirus outbreak sees shelves stripped of essentials.
Iceland stores across the country have also introduced reserved time slots to give the vulnerable and the elderly a chance to shop in store, with Iceland in Hagley Street, Halesowen opening from 9am till 11am on Wednesdays for the forseeable future for the over 65s and disabled.
