MEMBERS of Stourbridge's Got 2 Sing Choir are inviting the public to join in their VE Day 75th anniversary celebrations by visiting their Facebook page for live sing-alongs.

The group has been staging daily sing-alongs with a 1940s wartime theme this week - performing numbers including White Cliffs of Dover, Pack Up Your Troubles and Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Anyone can join in at www.facebook.com/got2singuk.

Further sing-alongs will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 4pm.

Got 2 Sing Choir is also hosting a virtual VE Day 75th anniversary virtual party, via Zoom, themed ‘We’ll Meet Again', featuring songs such as We’ll Meet Again, Rule Britannia, You’ll Never Walk Alone, and Land of Hope and Glory, with members invited to prepare sandwiches and bake cakes for a online picnic in their garden or lounge.

Choir founder, Beth Dunn, said: "We’re quite excited about hosting our virtual picnic and hope it will bring some much needed sunshine for everyone. Singing is proving to help maintain people’s mental health during these troubled times. "It’s amazing how everyone has embraced the technology too during lockdown. Social media such as Facebook and platforms such as ‘Zoom’ have provided a lifeline for members and leaders alike.”
