THE Adver is continuing its business-backing campaign by highlighting how a long-running Old Town restaurant has adapted to lockdown and helped key workers and the elderly during this difficult time.

Biplob Indian Cuisine served up Indian food to Swindon and the wider community for more than 30 years.

When the government announced on March 20 that all restaurants must close, Rokib Ali and his team had to come up with a strategy of how this predominantly eat-in business could continue serving curries and other cuisine around Swindon and the wider community.

With strict plans in place and adhering to all government safety guidelines, they managed to open their doors to the public and offer takeaway service.

And for the first time in three decades, the restaurant introduced a delivery service to bring hot meals straight to people's homes.

Mr Ali said: "The response from the Swindon community has been overwhelming. We are pleased to be delivering our food for people to enjoy at home safely.

"The Biplob team has been playing its part in helping the most vulnerable during this difficult time.

"My staff and I have been going above and beyond to deliver free meals to the elderly at Goddard Court, who are self-isolating, and we have delivered free meals to NHS staff at Great Western Hospital.

"If you would like to treat yourself to an award winning curry at home then give us a call. We look forward to seeing you."
