SENTIMENTAL items including paintings and a Panama hat have been stolen from a house in Stourbridge.

The incident happened at a property in Redhill Close between midnight on Friday September 4 and 1pm on Saturday September 5.

The upset owner said the two pictures taken, which depict Christmas shopping in Glasgow, had been painted by an artist friend Marlyn Romer and "they only mean anything to me and her".

Bridgestone golf clubs and a Panama hat belonging to his late wife, who passed away from cancer four years ago, were also taken.

He said the theft of the hat was "the most upsetting thing" as it was a prized possession.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We have been to see the resident at the address but unfortunately there are no forensic opportunities or any CCTV to help us identify the offender. We have also spoken to neighbours, but nothing was seen."

Anyone with any information about the incident or anyone who sees the pictures offered for sale is urged to contact police on 101 or via Live Chat online on the force website. Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
