THERE have been no new deaths in Worcestershire hospitals, NHS figures show.

According to the latest NHS England daily figures published today (September 28), the number of deaths in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust remains at 280, while the number in the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust remains at 28 deaths.

It is the sixth day in a row there has been no change.

The NHS England figures are accurate up to 5pm the previous day and do not necessarily include deaths to happen on that day.

The Acute Hospitals Trust covers Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Evesham Community Hospital as well as the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.

The Health and Care NHS trust covers community hospitals and rehabilitation wards, including Worcester City Impatient Unit, Malvern Community Hospital, Evesham Community Hospital, Pershore Community Hospital, the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, Tenbury Community Hospital and the Wyre Forest Ward.

The figures on deaths relate to patients who have died in hospital and who have tested positive for Covid-19. They do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes, prisons, ambulances or in the community.

The number of deaths in all settings in the county is at least 531, Office of National Statistics figures show.
