REPORTS have been coming in of a serious road crash in Wollaston which left the High Street closed to traffic earlier.

Police, paramedics and fire crews flooded the scene close to The Red Forte Restaurant during rush hour and the busy A461 High Street was blocked in both directions between Wood Street and Laburnum Street.

Stourbridge News:

A tarpaulin covering was erected next to a fire engine at the scene and the National Express Bus service 8 was diverted due to the incident which is believed to have happened at around 4.45pm.

The road has since been cleared and traffic is easing according to traffic and travel reports for the area.

Police have not yet released any further information.

One onlooker told the News: "There were a lot of emergency vehicles."
