A REAL-life scare fest is coming to Stourbridge - just in time for Halloween.

The team behind a forthcoming new escape rooms business in Crown Lane are inviting horror fans to check out the Stourbridge Scare Maze - if they dare.

Black Country business partners Lee Skelding and James Cox, of events company 4Ward Events Ltd, have been working on creating the new escape rooms for getting on for two years.

Hampered by the Covid-19 crisis which Lee said has affected the availability of materials and their ability to recruit staff, the attraction which will be known as The Escape Factory is expected to open in earnest next spring.

But in the meantime - the experienced event organisers, who have hosted pop-up scare events before, decided to create the Covid-safe Stourbridge Scare Maze to give horror and escape room fans, aged 16 and over, a treat this Halloween to help lift people's spirits amid what's been a ghastly year for many.

Lee said: "This will be the first time we've done this here. Stourbridge Scare Maze is like no other. We'll be taking people on a journey through several horror-themed environments for a truly immersive live action experience."

He added: "Already time slots are selling out so it looks like it's going to be quite popular - you normally have to travel further afield for this sort of thing."

Ticket bookings are limited to a maximum of six people per booking and all visitors will be required to wear a face mask, use the hand sanitiser station before entry and to give details of their party for the Government's coronavirus track and trace system - as per coronavirus guidelines.

The attraction will be open from October 22 to November 2 but pre-booking is a must.
