STUDENTS in year 10 at Redhill School in Stourbridge are currently self-isolating after cases of coronavirus were confirmed.

Headteacher James Clayton told the News today the school has confirmed four positive cases of Covid-19 in year 10 so those in the year group have been asked to study from home until next week.

He said: "Like many schools within the area we have seen a small increase in the number of confirmed cases within our school community. Recently we have had four confirmed cases in year 10.

"As a precautionary measure and following guidance and support from the Dudley Public Health team we have asked year 10 to follow our online learning programme from home, until Tuesday November 24.

"This was a decision we made to ensure that we keep all members of our school community safe."

He said with all confirmed Covid-19 cases the school has sought guidance from public health teams before taking any further action and he added: "I would like to thank all our parents, students and staff for their continued support during this time. I hope everyone stays safe and well."
