From locks flowing down to the base of her spine, Louise Turner shocked her Kingswinford care home colleagues and residents when she turned up sporting a bob.
Louise, a senior support worker at Trembath home for people with disabilities, had grown her hair out for many years.
But she decided to brave the chop to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust charity, which uses real heir to fashions wigs for cancer patients.
Louise said: “I’d been growing my hair for a long time and having such long locks was a huge part of me, so making the decision to cut it all off was a big deal.
“Everyone is touched by cancer in some way and I realised by donating my hair I could make a real difference to someone’s life. The Little Princess Trust relies on donations like mine to provide wigs and hairpieces to cancer patients and I was more than happy to do it. “Everyone has been very complimentary about my new look. I’m absolutely delighted.” Laura Reece, manager at Trembath, said: “We’re all proud to have her as a member of the supported living team. She’s an absolute star.”
