PEOPLE across the borough can celebrate the switching on of Dudley borough's Christmas lights by tuning into a virtual switch-on bash this weekend.

Dudley Council, in partnership with Halesowen BID, will be hosting an evening of festive cheer which residents can watch from the comfort of their homes on Saturday November 21.

The programme will include a Christmas cocktail master class, music performances and a cookery lesson from the BBC’s Masterchef: The Professionals 2019 winner, Stuart Deeley.

Starting at 4.30pm, the Christmas special will be hosted by Black Country Radio who will hand over to the Mayor of Dudley to officially switch on the borough’s Christmas lights at 5pm.

Councillor David Stanley, the Mayor of Dudley, said: "I am delighted that we will still be able to come together to celebrate the start of Christmas by having one big virtual switch-on event for the whole of the borough.

"Although we will be in the comfort of our own homes, I hope people will get into the spirit of the evening by wearing their Christmas jumpers and joining in with the countdown."

The show will be broadcast on the Dudley Council YouTube channel.
