TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing cars after police attended an industrial unit in Dudley.

Officers from Brierley Hill Police Station detained the pair after they attempted to flee the scene, PC Jamie Follows said, as police investigated reports of a stolen van yesterday (Saturday).

He said: “On arrival two males attempted to escape with one jumping in a nearby canal.

“We detained both males and located the van which was in the process of being stripped.”

Police say they also found two other suspected stolen cars at the premises off Northfield Road, Netherton, and they arrested both men on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles.

The pair remain in custody.
