A DISHWASHER and a Porsche were the very contrasting star items in an online raffle that has brought in a much-needed cash boost for Hagley Primary School PTA.
OK, the £215 paid in the auction for the Porsche only entitled the bidder to a track experience day, while the dishwasher bidder got that for life.
But in the end the bids all came down to the same thing, cash to help fill the financial gap caused by cancellation of the Christmas fayre because of Covid.
A total of £3,914 was raised through the auction run on a specially designed Facebook page with the help of Natalie Price from Priceless Business Support.
“We are determined that Covid will not beat us and the Facebook page - Facebook.com/HagleyPrimaryPTA - will now be transformed into the public face of the PTA and we look forward to many more virtual fundraisers in 2021 and beyond,” said Natalie.
The Porsche day was donated by Dynasty Partners and the AEG dishwasher by Aristocraft Kitchens and Bedrooms)
Other top bids included:
£182 for Stourbridge Tennis Club 6 month family membership
£200 Pressure washing service donated by Coopers Solutions
£175 for an Apple Watch, donated by one of the classes who clubbed together
