POLICE have confirmed a person who died near Rowley Regis train station was a teenage boy.
Police and medics attended Rowley Regis Railway Station on Station Road on Monday (November 30) at 3.38pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
The 13-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene. British Transport Police are not treating his death as suspicious.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said on Tuesday (December 1): "British Transport Police were called to the line near Rowley Regis railway station at 3.38pm on November 30, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
A spokesman said today: "It was a teenage boy who sadly died."
They confirmed the boy was aged 13.
