MORE snow is being forecast for Stourbridge as the Met Office continues its yellow warning for snow and ice across the West Midlands.

According to the Met Office there will be a light smattering of snow in Stourbridge at 9am tomorrow (Tuesday December 29) - with snow and rain at 10am and at 11am it is predicting more snow.

It is warning people that icy surfaces could be developing, with a little snow in places.

It has forecast that temperatures will lower to zero by 1am tomorrow - warming to one degree Celcius tomorrow morning at 9am when light snow is forecast.

By 1pm the temperature should be around three degrees Celcius.

It looks like the region has seen the worst of the snow today with tomorrow's snow predicted to be light showers.

The Met Office said: “Ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces during Monday night, especially where showers move well inland.

"Some of the showers will be wintry and could produce 2 to 5 cm lying snow above 250 metres, mostly over the Pennines and North York Moors where up to 10 cm is possible.

"Elsewhere, most places will see little or no snow, but a slight covering of a centimetre or so is possible in a few places."

The main concern is over ice with the Met Office warning of the potential for “injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces”, particularly on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
