SOME areas of Stourbridge have seen 40 or more new coronavirus cases recorded in a week according latest figures.

The latest data published on the Government website GOV.UK shows how many new cases have been recorded in the seven days up to January 1 – the latest data available.

Stourbridge Town and Old Quarter recorded 47 new cases.

Cradley East recorded 64 new cases while Wall Heath recorded 53 and Quarry Bank 51.

The figures are split into several "middle super output areas" – zones that are slightly larger than postcode areas with an average population of around 7,200 people.
