A Quarry Bank drink-driver has been hit with a £1,500 fine and banned from driving for 26 weeks. Christian Leipacher, aged 47, of Judge Road, admitted driving a BMW sports car in Providence Street, Lye, when three times over the limit. He must also pay £285 in costs.

A man who swung a Staffordshire Bull Terrier by the neck has been ordered to pay £230 after he admitted causing unnecessary suffering. Wayne Warren Collins, aged 49, of Oldbury Road, Rowley Regis, was also ordered to carry out 180 hours unpaid work.

An Oldbury woman has been issued with a restraining order and given a suspended jail sentence after admitting harassing a man with persistent calls and voice messages on his mobile phone. Standhor Khan, aged 50, of Newbury Lane, Sandwell, also admitted driving while disqualified and was in breach of a community order imposed for failing to provide a breath test. She was sentenced to a total of 24 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and put on a supervision order to undergo mental health treatment. She was ordered to pay £1,563 in costs. Magistrates the suspended prison sentence was imposed because of the continued offending and lack of response to previous sentences.

Leighton Lee Homer, aged 32, of High Street, Lye, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £157 in costs after admitting the theft of £77 worth of chocolate from the Tesco store in Oldswinford.

Christopher Farren Byng, aged 32, of Two Gates Lane, Halesowen, was banned from for a year and ordered to pay £289 for driving over the alcohol limit in Brierley Hill. He had 52 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the limit is 35. He pleaded guilty.

A Dudley man who breached a restraining order has been ordered to pay £214 in fines and costs. Steven John Fidler, aged 54, of Park Road, Woodsetton, pleaded guilty.

A man who was just over the alcohol limit when he drove down his home street at Nimmings Road, Halesowen, has lost his licence and been ordered to pay £289 in fines and costs. Luke Hadlington, aged 25, had 47 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, 12 above the limit. He admitted drink driving and not having insurance.
