A SRI Lankan man has been banned from the roads for more than three years after driving while twice the legal limit.
Balachandran Thevapalan, aged 51, of Park Road, Stourbridge, admitting driving his Toyota along Adelaide Street in Brierley Hill with 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on January 24 this year. The limit is 35.
He was banned for 40 months, fined £200, and ordered to pay his £135 costs and £95 into the victim services fund by Dudley magistrates.
They also imposed a community order and said they took his guilty plea into account when sentencing.
