A COMMUNITY-SPIRITED student from Stourbridge is doing his bit to protect the country against Covid-19 by volunteering at a vaccination centre.
Ellis Walters is looking after patients at a vaccination centre.
The 17-year-old, who studies applied science at Halesowen College on Whittingham Road, has been putting his skills to the test from his course.
The teenager, who lives in Stourbridge, is also a volunteer for St John’s Ambulance.
Ellis has been a first aider for St John’s Ambulance at events like the London Marathon, concerts and football matches for the last seven years.
He said: “It has been a fantastic opportunity to help fight this pandemic and try to make a difference to people’s lives.”
Ellis has also been putting vaccination packs together for training centres.
Huw Pritchard, Student Support Manager at Halesowen College, said: “We are very proud of Ellis and the work he is doing now for the vaccination programme and also his work for St John’s Ambulance.”
Ellis hopes to go to The University of Worcester or Wolverhampton University to study Paramedic Science.
