A NEW business set up by a Stourbridge nature-lover is strictly for the birds.

Nokular is the eco-friendly idea of Matt Jones, from Pedmore, and was prompted by the rise in interest in bird-watching during lockdown.

He and partner Riana Thakrar now produce bird feed, birdwatching start kits in recyclable packs, and have launched an app for people to share photos and find latest advice.

Matt, 26, says he was lucky to have been brought up with green space on his doorstep, but in recent years had lost his enthusiasm for exploring ‘a bit’.

But when lockdown came he found getting out into nature and stopping to observe birds ‘incredibly beneficial and a great source of purpose and connection.’

I would like to try to encourage as many people as possible to realise the wellbeing benefits of being mindful in nature and noticing the beauty of wild birds.

“Nokular is all about reconnecting people with nature, specifically birds. I have carefully crafted Nokular Bird Food, designed to be the most nutritious product for birds out there.

“It is my aim for Nokular to help birds thrive throughout the year, and for Nokular’s free app to be the community that helps people seek and share a connection with nature.”

The adult and kid’s starter packs they produce contain a variety of items including a bird feeder, Nokular Bird Nutrition feed, a starter guide, child-proof binoculars and educational challenges.
